Summer Show 2010

Following a super show on Sunday I would like to thank everyone involved who so generously gave of their time…the judges, stewards, runners, the announcer, committee members and not least our young judges, who all deserve praise for their assistance in making the show a financial success and in helping to make the day so enjoyable.  I have taken several calls and received numerous messages of thanks on your behalf - Mrs Mansfield-Parnell, President of the NPS, was most impressed with the day.  Also, thanks to the photographers (FredTheCat.co.uk) who worked hard to capture some lovely photos for the competitors, the caterers and the ice cream man plus the crews on the tack stands.

I must also say a huge thank you to the paramedic who was so quickly on the scene when our President, Blanche Miller, fell ill at the wheel of her car.  He dealt with the incident with great professionalism and I am sure it is of huge reassurance to you all that we have such cover at our events. Blanche is now recovering at home and we hope to see her back to full power soon!

WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT - NPS/Baileys Olympia Qualifiers

The following statement has been released by the NPS:-

"URGENT:  Amendment to the 2010 Showing and Competition Rules

After thorough discussion and consideration for the current contract negotiations with Olympia, the best interests of the NPS and the Native Breeds, the NPS Council at its meeting on 15th April 2010 made the following decision with immediate effect:

To amend the NPS 2010 Showing and Competition Rules as follows:

That Rule D 1b) be amended to read:

"b) Rider any age, except Stallions (see rules in section A 3.2)."

In the interest of clarity this means the following wording should be considered deleted with immediate effect:

"A rider may only qualify one pony for the M&M Supreme Ridden (Olympia) Pony of the Year final at Olympia. Once a rider has qualified a pony then he/she can not ride other ponies in Olympia qualifying rounds in that year. (N.B. The rider who qualifies the pony must ride it in the final at Olympia unless there are special circumstances and a change of rider is agreed by the NPS Competitions Committee)."

 Peter M. Durrant, Chief Executive."
